Extensive collection of typescripts, articles, notes and other source material relating to Bates' work among Aborigines and her compiling of sources on aboriginal customs, language and culture for a proposed book on the Aborigines of Western Australia. Includes some correspondence and photographs and some personal items and memorabilia but consist chiefly of Daisy Bates's manuscript and background material for The native tribes of Western Australia, written during Bates's period of service with the Western Australian Government from 1904 to 1912. The collection duplicates in part the extensive collection held by the National Library of Australia.
